BIOGRAPHY

Hongqi Yao is a cinematographer fascinated by the art of visual storytelling. He is passionate about collaboration, and thrives then bringing together talented individuals to create cinematic masterpieces. He approaches each project with an artistic flair and a commitment to perfection. With each project, Hongqi strives to push the boundaries of storytelling and deliver an unforgettable visual experience to his audience.

While earning his MFA at Florida State University, his work has been featured in the Portland Horror Film Festival, the Beverly Hills Film Festival, the Popcorn Frights Film Festival, and Toronto Indie Horror Fest. It Came from Within won the Best Student Cinematography Award at the LACA Film Festival.
